Hawkwind | Sonic Attack | 1981

**Hawkwind – Sonic Attack (1981 UK Pressing) – RCA / Active Records – RCALP 6004**

An original 1981 UK pressing of *Sonic Attack*, the ninth studio album by British space rock pioneers Hawkwind, released on RCA Records in association with Active Records.

A powerful and atmospheric album from Hawkwind's early 1980s period, *Sonic Attack* combines the band's trademark space rock sound with driving rhythms, heavy guitar work, synthesiser textures and science-fiction themes. Featuring Dave Brock, Harvey Bainbridge and Huw Lloyd-Langton, the album also draws on the writing of science-fiction author Michael Moorcock.

This copy features the distinctive silver-and-black RCA labels, original UK catalogue number RCALP 6004 and early A-1U/B-1U matrix cuts. Side One carries the etched ARUN mastering signature, associated with mastering engineer Arun Chakraverty.
